Practice and Race Schedule this Week
On Monday, we will have a team meeting at 3 PM in the stands.

On Tuesday, we will compete in another league meet against Corona del Mar and Marina at Corona del Mar High School (Map Link). Please arrive to the meet wearing your uniform and team gear. Here are additional details for the meet:
  • All athletes will be dismissed from school during lunch period which begins at 11:11 AM.
  • If athletes have their own transportation, they can drive themselves to Corona del Mar HS and must be there by 12:30 PM.
  • If athletes do not have transportation, there will be a school bus provided. To travel on the school bus, you must meet at Worthy Park (Map Link) at 11:45 AM. Do not be late or else you will miss the bus.
  • The meet will start at 2 PM.
  • Coaches will let athletes know which events they are competing in on Monday at practice.
  • All athletes are required to stay until the end of the meet (approx 6:30 PM).

On Saturday, ​we will be competing in two different meets:
  • Sprinters, hurdlers, jumpers, and throwers will be competing at the Orange County Championships at Mission Viejo HS (Map Link).
    • All athletes are responsible for their own transportation to and from the meet. This meet has limited entries and not all entries are accepted due to the size and competition level of this meet. We have done our best to get as many athletes as possible into the meet, but please be advised that not all athletes will be able to compete at this meet. Please arrive to the meet wearing your uniform and team gear. 
    • Coaches will let athletes know who was accepted into the meet on Wednesday when the meet program is announced. 
    • Meet Schedule. Coaches will let athletes know what time to arrive.

    • Admission price for spectators: Adults $12, Children $8 and Children under 5 years of age $2.

  • Distance athletes will compete at The Ten at JSerra HS (Map Link). This is a distance only meet (800/1600/3200).

  • Hurdles/High Jump:

    • Friday - 3 PM at HBHS track for high jump

How to Get Cleared for Track & Field Team
  • If you missed our parent meeting on December 12th, you can watch a recording HERE.
  • All 2025 Track & Field Athletes must Sign-Up using this link - 2025 HBHS Track & Field Sign-Up Form. Please fill out this form ASAP (team gear being ordered the week of December 16th).
  • If you ran cross country, did fall track, or participated in a fall or winter sport, you are already cleared. If you are new, you MUST get cleared before coming out for practice. You can find complete details on how to get cleared HERE. Please complete all steps.
  • Financial contributions are due January 17th.
    • Returning athletes and/or athletes who did cross country (and already have a uniform) - $475
    • New athletes and/or athletes who need a uniform - $585
    • Please give check to Coach Shackelford or Coach Jim.
  • Trainer/Transportation fee ($75) paid online through the ASB Store HERE (select Product Categories--> Transportation Spring-->Track Trans/Trainer).
